Ellané van Wyk
Ellané van Wyk is a niche tax specialist who works on developing and implementing innovative tax solutions for landscape conservation. Ellané is the Tax Lead for Innovative Finance at Wilderness Foundation Africa. She works extensively with conservation and biodiversity stewardship officers across South Africa implementing South Africa’s first effective biodiversity tax incentive – a unique and innovative tax allowance for nature reserves and national parks declared on privately and communally owned land. She also provided training to the conservation sector and facilitates the mainstreaming of this fiscal solution across South Africa’s landscape.
Ellané has a background in commerce and education, is a qualified CA (SA), and has done extensive research on policy making on financial incentives, while lecturing Taxation as a module at Stellenbosch University for over 20 years. She is regarded as an expert in the field of biodiversity tax incentives.
