Lesley Hill Succulent Trust
A committed supporter of the conservation of the Succulent Karoo, Mr Leslie Hill and WWF South Africa initiated the Leslie Hill Succulent Karoo Trust in 1995 to fund vital conservation initiatives in the Succulent Karoo.
At the time of his death, Mr Hill left a bequest in his will to continue conservation work in this globally important region which is home to over 6 000 plant species of which 40% are endemic.
Since its inception, more than 169 990ha of land has been purchased for the creation and expansion of core conservation areas in the Succulent Karoo including the Namaqua National Park.
